Who can forget Action Park in Vernon, NJ. Located about one hour from NYC on the grounds of the Mountain Creek ski resort. This amusement park had poorly trained staff, served alcohol and was really never up to code. Sometimes refer to as “Class Action Park”, there were people constantly being injured on Tarzan and the infamous Cannonball, which ultimately help led to its closure in September of 1996. The park claimed six lives before it eventually closed. It has since re-opened under a new name “Mountain Creek”.
