Experts Warn of Major Congestion with The American Dream Opening

Alright everyone, this is what we have been preparing for.  Seventeen years in the making, The American Dream Amusement Park (formerly Xanadu, RIP) is finally opening this Friday.  The building which has consistently listed as the ugliest building in New Jersey has a fresh new coat of paint and is ready for business.

Traffic experts warn to expect major delays with an estimated 40 million visitors each year.  Many local elected official have expressed concern that the owners have spent more resources on getting New Yorker’s to the American Dream and have not considered the already maxed out Route 17 and Route 3 for North Jersey residents getting to and around this monstrosity.

This Friday, Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and “The Rink” will open.  The retail mall, dining, indoor sky slope and water park will open in three later phases.

NJ Transit will be offering bus service from the Secaucus Train Station (next stop Sea-Caucus).

Parking is going to cost you dearly… Parking for an 8-hour visit will be $24.00 and during Giants/Jets home games and concerts will cost you a whopping $40.00 for the day.

This will either be the biggest bust or a cash cow for New Jersey.  What are your thoughts?
