The Confidence Project Journal, a book written by Mount Arlington, New Jersey resident Kaity (pronounced Kite-ee) Rodriguez, will be launched online Monday, March 8, to coincide with International Women’s Day. Her mission is to support high-achieving millenial women who struggle with their confidence. The book will be available on Rodriguez’s website in a special VIP hardback edition and all major retailers in paperback.
A former Miss New Jersey USA, on the surface Rodriguez had it all: beauty, talent, and intelligence. Beneath the surface, she struggled with self-doubt, anxiety, and fear. Kaity has built a career addressing these issues through speaking, coaching, and counseling services. Kaity Rodriguez, LCSW, is a psychotherapist, confidence educator, and empowerment speaker with a passion for educating and inspiring girls and women to live amazing lives. She is also the founder of Serenity Wellness and Therapy Services, where she and her team of clinicians support individuals experiencing depression, burn out, and anxiety.
“As a therapist, I believe in journaling as a powerful intervention for building self awareness. Sitting, reflecting, and processing your life experiences in an intentional way is how we become more mindful.” Rodriguez has learned that confidence is one important key to success, while self-acceptance is one key to a peaceful and joy filled life. Rodriguez said, “I spent time beating myself up and trying to be perfect. I wrote this book to help women use the medium of journaling to discover what I’ve learned.”
“My female patients are currently struggling with imposter syndrome and high levels of self-criticism, commented Rodriguez. “We often believe we have to be 100% qualified to seek growth opportunities, therefore we avoid putting ourselves in the applicant pool,”commented Rodriguez. “It’s not uncommon for us to expect failure at a given task, when in fact, we have succeeded.”
The Confidence Project Journal is a personal guide for women who want to operate from a place of power and divine, God-given strength. Using 52 essays and associated prompts, any woman can cultivate and grow her confidence and create the life she really wants.
