By converting manufacturing to produce N95 certified masks to donate the New York City based jewelry company Adornia is addressing the serious Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shortage problem. The business requested their box supplier in the Guangdong Province in China to adapt staff and invest in technology to fabricate the U.S. regulation certified masks.

The jewelry company owner felt lucky to still be receiving orders during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and has felt a need to graciously give back. She purchased the produced 10,000 N95 masks to donate to Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in NY as well as to others in need. Adornia is the only company giving free masks to people in need that is not contingent on a sale.

Moran Amir, Adornia founder, states:

“I am lucky to be in business with most of my sales coming from online retailers such as Nordstrom.com. I am happy to give back to the community and I love New York so much It breaks my heart to see this city sleeping for once. The mask donation to NY Presbyterian was obvious for me. I also want to reach people in need who cannot afford masks by having them sign up in our Instagram profile @Adornia. Time to give back even if the environment for small businesses is uncertain.”
