Another Professional New York Football Team will Play in New Jersey

The XFL is being revamped and our local team has been revealed.  The New York Guardians will play out of MetLife Stadium starting February 2020.  Their colors are grey, black and red and will feature a gargoyle-like mascot.

Vince McMahon will own the league, but will not have any involvement in “football operations”.  Former Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride has signed on as the Guardians head coach.

The XFL has inked an impressive TV deal with FOX and ABC/ESPN that has more than half of its 2020 games scheduled.  The XFL was a short-lived rival to the NFL, however the league fell apart after they switched their games to the same time of the year as the NFL.

Do you think the Guardians/XFL 2.0 will be successful?
