“Notorious B.I.G./Tupac Crime Film” Starring Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker is FINALLY Here

Based on the true story of one the most “notorious” unsolved cases in recent American history.  ‘City of Lies’ is a provocative thriller revealing a never seen look at the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., which happened relatively soon after the murder of Tupac.  Johnny Depp plays Russel Poole (Retired LAPD Detective) and Forest Whitacker plays “Jack” Jackson (LA Reporter). In search of the truth, the two team up and unravel a web of institutional corruption and lies. Relentless in their pursuit, these two determined men threaten to uncover the conspiracy, crack the foundation of the LAPD and send ripple effects throughout the country.

The Film, released by Saban Films is currently scheduled for release on March 19, 2021, followed by a streaming release on April 9, 2021.  Originally set to be released on September 7, 2018.  However, the film ran into a s*@t storm of obstacles that included an alleged assault case against Johnny Dpep on set, the original films owners reportedly filed chapter 11, plus I can’t imagine the LAPD was too thrilled about the release.

‘City of Lies’ release is right on the heels of Netflix’s successful release ‘Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell’, which details behind the scenes shots of Christopher’s early years and rapid rise to fame until he was tragically shot and killed on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles.
