The Moment Nets Fans have been Waiting for Since 1976

It finally happened, the best-case scenario for the Nets franchise.

In ‘93 we thought it was going to happen with Kenny, Drazen and DC.  In ‘03, we thought it would happen with Kidd, Kenyon, RJ and Kittles. Lastly in 2014, we thought it would happen with Deron Williams, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson and KG… We were wrong.  We have been patiently waiting for a championship since 1976.

Before the big news this weekend, we had heard rumors that Kyrie was planning to bring KD to Brooklyn, but we have heard these types of speculative rumors before.

Honestly, I will be sad to see D-Lo leave, he has a lot of heart and will only improve as point guard in the league.  His crowd control was amazing, and he single-handedly brought the Nets into the playoffs last season.  Unfortunately, there was no way to keep him and make the big three happy.

All players will reportedly agree to a four-year deal this coming Saturday.  Durant will get $164, Kyrie will receive $141 million, while Jordan will get by with $40 million.

With Kevin Durant (at full health), Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan, I see no real competition for the Nets.  Sure, there will be very good teams, but Golden State will not be the same without KD and the Nets could easily handle Toronto in the East.  Also, let’s not forget about the young talent we already have.

My hat goes off to the Nets GM Sean Marks for brokering this deal.  It’s here, Nets fans rejoice, we have waited a long time for this to line up and we deserve it!
