It’s still October, but the Christmas season is well underway in the city. This week, Rockefeller Center has chosen the enormous evergreen that will be the center of the holiday festivities.
This gigantic Norway Spruce was from the Wallkill, (Orange County) #845 New York, a small hamlet near the Catskills. Lets talk about the tree, it’s 72 feet tall, weighs approximately 12 tons, and it’s 75 years old.
The huge tree will be cut down next week, and make the trip from Wallkill down to New York City; it’s due to arrive in Rockefeller Center on November 10, giving people there enough time to decorate it with thousands of LED lights before its big reveal on November 28. The tree and lights will be in place until the beginning of January.
