Did video kill the radio star? Was the city built on rock ’n roll? Concertgoers will have a chance to find out when the world’s best ’80s musical group, Jessie’s Girl, takes its “Back to the Eighties” show to Montclair, NJ Wellmont Theater on June 7 at 8 p.m.
Jessie’s Girl has mastered renditions of the world’s most vibrant songs, by some of the decade’s top names (e.g., Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince and many more). This riveting mashup is performed by a group known for its signature ’80s getup – think the brightest neon spandex and extra hair spray.
The glitz and glam of the ’80s is never more apparent than at a Jessie’s Girl show – a party in every sense of the word and a night filled with some of the 20th century’s most recognizable lyrics – backed by tight electric guitar licks and thunderous drums.
The New York group consists of pop/rock vocalist and emerging superstar Jenna O’Gara, Off-Broadway’s Chris Hall and notorious Sting impersonator Mark Rinzel. That lineup has also been bolstered by Broadway’s own Constantine Maroulis (“Rock of Ages,” “American Idol”) and includes one of the tightest bands in rock music: Eric Presti on guitar, Sky on keyboards, Drew Mortali on bass and Michael Maenza on drums.
This is a night you won’t soon forget, as the group will bring their signature energy across the river to Montclair on June 7.
